10s Exploring History and Heritage
25th June 2024
As part of their Year 10 GCSE coursework, Geography and Psychology students set off on field trips this half term.
Psychology students took a trip to the home of one of the founding fathers of psychology, Sigmund Freud's, house in London where they were given the unique opportunity to have the house open to Carrington School only. Students were given a guided tour of the house and also took part in a learning session specific to Freud's theories on dreaming which deepened their knowledge and understanding of a core element of the course.
Geography students set off on a very rainy and overcast day to the seaside in Folkestone. The focus of the trip was on coastal fieldwork techniques, allowing students to get hands on experience. They also went on an urban walk which will be part of their Paper 2 exam in Year 11.
