Culture and Challenge
21st July 2023
There was Culture and there was Challenge! Supported financially by our unique ACE Foundation, we had two intense days off-timetable for all year groups, jam-packed with activities both in-school and out.
We took our students beyond the academic curriculum to have some fun with peers and staff members, some experiences and some personal challenges that will build their skills and open their minds to possibilities for the future.
10s had a choice of Dry-Skiing at the Snowdome in Hemel Hempstead, Aqua Park & Inflatables at Thorpe Lakes, or Cinema & Karting Combo in Crawley, followed by a day of Team Building and competitive Problem-Solving puzzles.
9s enjoyed Animal Encounters, here in the school grounds with displays from Huxley’s Birds of Prey Centre, Tom’s Talking Reptiles and the local Police with their working dogs. Their second day was the High Ropes Tree Top Challenge at Go Ape experience.
8s were immersed in Crystal Maze Games with a variety of physical, mental & skills-based challenges to develop team-work, leadership, problem-solving and initiative, here in our grounds, while their second day took place at Guildford Spectrum for Ten Pin Bowling in the morning, lunch in Stoke Park, then a choice of swimming or ice skating in the afternoon.
7s were challenged by a 9-Mile Challenge Circular Hike around the North Downs, from and back to the school, appreciating our beautiful local and natural surroundings followed by a trip to Chessington Zoo & World of Adventures.
