Culture and Challenge 24

26th August 2024

The end of term saw students off-timetable for two days for our annual Culture and Challenge Days. We encouraged students to try new experiences and challenge themselves to build skills and open their mind to new activities.

10s spent a day in school taking part in Business Enterprise Games followed by a day off-site enjoying a choice of Dry-Skiing in Sandown, Aqua Park & Inflatables at Thorpe Lakes, or Cinema & Karting Combo in Crawley.

9s enjoyed the High Ropes Tree Top Challenge at Go Ape or Water Based Activities at Surrey Hills Adventure Company. Their second day was here in the school grounds with visits from Huxley’s Birds of Prey CentreTom’s Talking Reptiles, The Terrence Higgins Trust and Surrey Air Ambulance

8s were immersed in Crystal Maze Games with a variety of physical, mental & skills-based challenges to develop team-work, leadership, problem-solving and initiative, here in our grounds, while their second day took place at The Light in Redhill for Ten Pin Bowling, Climbing, Pool or Shuffleboard in the morning followed by a private film screening in the afternoon.

7s were challenged by a 9-Mile Challenge Circular Hike around the North Downs, from and back to the school, appreciating our beautiful local and natural surroundings followed by a trip to Chessington Zoo & World of Adventures.

This year as part of our Culture and Challenge offering there was also an opportunity for some students to attend a National Theatre performance of Complicitѐ's Mnemonic and a small group of our sporting stars had a day at the Wimbledon Championships.
