Helen Rutter, renowned author of books such as The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh and The Boy Whose Wishes Came True, came to talk to all our 8s, along with a small selection of 7s and 9s, during the Excellence Programme, about her new book The Funniest Boy in the World.

The interactive session was hugely engaging and entertaining with Helen discussing what makes us unique, how to write stories using the student’s own lives as inspiration and the importance of humour in stories.

One student told us he went straight home that night and started writing his own book!
