Time for a Tea Party!
26th September 2024
A group of BTEC Dance and Y9 students took the train to the iconic Royal Opera House in London to watch a performance of Zoo Nation’s ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’. This hip hop take on Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland really was a tea party like no other!
“[Set in an asylum,] The Queen of Hearts has anger issues, Alice is confused about just how big or small her body actually is. The Mad Hatter, suffering from mercury poisoning, never wants to stop having tea! Ernest has his work cut out for him at his new job. He is tasked to fix people who have been locked away for not being ‘normal’. As he gets closer to his patients, Ernest realises: what’s so great about being ‘normal’ anyway?”
The performance incorporated various musical styles, artists and influences, with each character having their own unique musical motif.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance and our very own Holly and Lexi even got up on stage and involved with the dancing!
