Woodfield Education Centre @ Carrington

This partnership is the beginning of a

truly inclusive project, an ethos that is key to both schools.

In September 2023 we opened a Specialist School Satellite Hub - a joint project with Surrey County Council, in partnership with Woodfield School, Carrington School and South East Surrey Schools Education Trust (SESSET), which expanded Woodfield School to create 40 additional places.

Students attending Woodfield Education Centre @ Carrington have Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCPs) naming Woodfield Education Centre at Carrington School as the appropriate setting to meet individual needs. Applications are managed by Woodfield and students are based at The Lodge at Carrington full-time, wearing Carrington uniform.

The accommodation encompasses two teaching rooms, two specialist rooms for personalised support, offices and substantial external space, including a garden.

Students have classes in English and Maths taught by Woodfield staff at The Lodge and also have a wider timetable of Science, Music, Drama, Food Technology, PE, and Geography over on the main school site  allowing them to experience aspects of mainstream education, alongside specialist support from highly trained staff.

They also attend our Forest School and unique Excellence Programme.

Blending Woodfield’s motto Opening Doors to Success with Carrington’s Ad Astra (To the Stars) means students can fulfil their potential in a nurturing, ambitious and encouraging environment that draws together the best of two Good schools.
